How to play

How to play Spider Solitaire

  1. Build downward by rank Place a card or movable sequence on the next higher rank. Suits may mix while you build.
  2. Make same-suit sequences Cards move together only when they descend by rank and share the same suit.
  3. Deal another row Use the stock when every column contains at least one card. One new card lands on each column.
  4. Clear eight complete runs A same-suit run from King through Ace clears automatically. Remove all eight runs to win.

Player guide

Keep same-suit cards together

You can build on any suit, but only a same-suit sequence can move as one group. Use an empty column to rearrange mixed stacks before dealing another row.

Spider Solitaire strategy

Open columns before the next deal

An empty column gives you room to separate mixed suits and expose face-down cards. You must fill it before dealing from the stock, so use the space to make a useful same-suit sequence rather than moving the first available card.

Common questions

Spider Solitaire FAQ

Can I play Spider Solitaire online for free?

Yes. This Spider Solitaire game runs in your browser without a download or PCder account. You can start unlimited games and use undo or hints.

Does Spider Solitaire work on a phone?

Yes. Tap a face-up card to select it, then tap the destination column. The ten-column table resizes for narrow screens.

What is the easiest Spider Solitaire difficulty?

One suit is the easiest setting because every descending sequence uses the same suit. Two suits add more planning. Four suits is the hardest setting and uses all four suits.

Can I move mixed suits together?

No. You may place a card on the next higher rank regardless of suit, but a group moves together only when every card in that group has the same suit.

When can I deal more cards?

You can deal a new row when the stock still has cards and none of the ten tableau columns is empty.

Is this Spider Solitaire game open source?

Yes. It is an original PCder game released under the MIT license. PCder hosts its HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on its own domain.

Can I play Spider Solitaire on PCder from Canada?

Yes. The Canada page keeps Spider Solitaire in a desktop browser format with no installer, clear controls, and source notes. A school, office, or managed network may still block access.
