How to play

How to play Turbo Trail Rally

  1. Choose your circuit and driver Pick a circuit and a cartoon driver above the track, then choose Start race. After the countdown, the kart accelerates automatically.
  2. Steer through the bends Use Left and Right, or A and D, to stay between the red and cream curbs.
  3. Charge a drift boost Hold Drift or Space while steering. Release the control after the meter fills to get a short boost.
  4. Finish three laps Pass the five rival karts and cross the line after lap three. Contact with another kart or leaving the road cuts your speed.

Player guide

Release a drift after the charge meter fills

Start the turn before the bend gets tight. Hold Drift while steering, watch the blue meter fill, then release the button on the exit to get a short burst of speed.

Kart racing tips

Set up the turn before you reach it

Move toward the inside of the road as a bend begins. A drift carries the kart farther sideways than normal steering, so starting late can put the wheels off the road. Frostpeak pass has less steering grip than the other circuits; start its tight turns earlier.

Common questions

Turbo Trail Rally FAQ

Can I play this kart racing game online for free?

Yes. Turbo Trail Rally runs in your browser without a payment, download, or PCder account.

Does Turbo Trail Rally work on a phone?

Yes. Large steering, drift, and boost buttons appear below the track. The kart accelerates automatically on touch devices, and the layout also works in landscape orientation.

How do I drift in Turbo Trail Rally?

Hold Space or the Drift button while steering left or right. Release Drift after the meter fills to turn the charge into a short speed boost.

Why does my kart slow down?

The kart loses speed when it leaves the road or touches a rival. Return between the curbs and leave a little space when passing.

Does the game have sound?

Yes. It has engine audio, countdown tones, collision sounds, boost sounds, and a simple race soundtrack. Use the Sound button above the track to turn audio off.

Can I choose a different track or character?

Yes. Choose Sunset coast, Frostpeak pass, or Cactus canyon before starting. The four drivers are Pip the fox, Momo the panda, Luna the rabbit, and Bolt the robot. Use Change track or driver to return to the selection screen. Your browser remembers the last selection when local storage is available.

Do the characters have different speeds?

No. All four characters use the same kart settings. Each circuit has its own route and scenery, and Frostpeak pass has reduced steering grip. The game saves a separate best time for each circuit on your device.

Is Turbo Trail Rally open source?

Yes. It is an original PCder game released under the MIT license. PCder hosts the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and generated audio on its own domain.
